In a world where businesses must navigate market volatility and financial pressure, operating efficiently is no longer optional—it’s essential. This pressure is especially intense in brewing and emerging industries like alternative proteins, where real-time data visibility often decides who thrives and who struggles. Faced with rising costs, tangled supply chains, and escalating sustainability demands, companies need sharper, smarter tools to stay ahead.

Enter Sennos. Formerly known as Precision Fermentation, this North Carolina-based startup is changing how fermentation processes are managed. By delivering real-time analytics and automation, Sennos turns complex, slow systems into streamlined, efficient operations. Now, armed with $15 million in fresh funding, the company is ready to scale. The round was led by TomEnterprise, a fund created by former EQT CEO Thomas von Koch and Jan Ståhlberg from Sweden. This new raise pushes Sennos’ total funding over $20 million.

Speaking to TFN, Sennos shared that the new capital will fuel rapid growth across the brewing and beverage industries. A major focus will be expanding the go-to-market team and meeting soaring customer demand. At the same time, Sennos is investing heavily in R&D, extending its platform beyond brewing into sectors like alternative proteins, biofuels, pharmaceuticals, and broader biomanufacturing. The goal? To make precision fermentation monitoring the industry gold standard.

Sennos is also scaling its sensing and analytics capabilities. By 2026, the company aims to cover every stage of fluid and fermentation production. Its modular M3 system will continue evolving, adding new sensors that integrate seamlessly into existing setups. This not only enhances fermentation but transforms the entire production line. Meanwhile, software upgrades will bring customers richer analytics and predictive modeling, offering deeper insights and smarter operations.

Brewing Better Futures: The Story Behind Sennos

Founded in 2017 by Jared Resnick, a veteran entrepreneur with 30 years of experience in F&B and tech, Sennos was built on a simple but powerful idea: bring real-time intelligence to fermentation. Before launching Sennos, Jared co-founded Mimetics, developing advanced tools for exploring biological networks. At Sennos, he combines analytical precision with creative thinking to push fluidics and fermentation technologies into the future.

Since its founding, Sennos has quietly built the world’s largest real-time fermentation dataset. This treasure trove powers AI-driven insights that help brewers make faster decisions, minimize process variability, and maintain consistent product quality—all while boosting margins and cutting waste. In an industry where many still rely on slow lab testing and manual sampling, Sennos offers real-time control, unlocking better beer, faster production, and stronger resilience amid supply chain disruptions.

Sennos’ platform pioneers the use of AI for sensing, analytics, and automation in fermentation and fluidics. By transforming unpredictable biological processes into consistent, efficient systems, the company empowers beverage producers to scale sustainably while maximizing profits. And with every deployment, Sennos’ system learns, adapts, and sharpens its ability to deliver faster responses and better outcomes.

BrewIQ and M3: A Smarter Way to Ferment

At the heart of Sennos’ technology is its flagship BrewIQ platform, now paired with the M3 Sensor System. Together, they offer an AI-powered toolkit that doesn’t just monitor fermentation—it predicts it. Operators get real-time views into fermentation dynamics and are alerted to any deviations before they turn into costly problems.

By eliminating blind spots and replacing them with live data, Sennos enables brewers to fine-tune processes on the fly, delivering consistency, improving sustainability, and scaling production with confidence. This live, connected approach dramatically outperforms traditional manual sampling or isolated lab instruments that many breweries still rely on.

When it comes to competition, Sennos occupies a unique sweet spot. It sits above basic homebrewing tools and below expensive, disconnected lab systems. Unlike others that lock data into proprietary silos, Sennos is data-source agnostic. It pulls inputs from across the production line and fuses them through its platform, giving operators an unprecedented level of precision and control. With the largest real-time fermentation database behind it, no one else can match Sennos’ speed, visibility, or actionable insights.

Sennos’ expansion beyond brewing into industries like biofuels and pharmaceuticals positions it to have an even broader impact. The company’s modular, intelligent platform could soon become the operating system for fluid-based manufacturing around the world.

As Jared Resnick puts it, “Understanding is where every breakthrough begins. We started Sennos to help brewers truly see what’s happening inside their fermentation tanks. That changed everything. Now, this funding lets us bring that understanding to industries where fermentation drives the future—alternative proteins, biofuels, pharmaceuticals, and beyond.”
