Finding the right job after college is getting harder. For many new graduates, the search takes months—and often ends with them settling for roles that don’t match their goals. Drafted, a new startup just out of stealth mode, wants to change that. The company has created a career platform tailored specifically for students and early-career professionals, a group it believes traditional job sites like LinkedIn, Handshake, and Indeed overlook.

Instead of relying on outdated, keyword-heavy resumes, Drafted uses AI video resumes to help job seekers stand out. This new approach combines artificial intelligence with short, personalized videos that showcase a candidate’s communication style, confidence, and potential. It’s a big shift from the standard PDF resume—and one designed to catch the eye of employers faster.

Drafted Connects Students with 3,500+ Hiring Companies

To bridge the gap between entry-level talent and companies eager to hire, Drafted has partnered with over 3,500 employers. The list spans from early-stage startups to global giants like Google, Amazon, and DoorDash—including dozens of Y Combinator-backed ventures.

But that’s not all. Drafted is also teaming up with top universities such as UCLA, the University of Miami, the University of Chicago, and Georgetown to get students on board early. The goal? Help them secure internships and full-time roles that actually match their skills and career paths.

Behind the Scenes: Founders With Firsthand Experience

Drafted is the brainchild of Andrew Kozlovski and Rodrigo Pecchio, two USC alums with very different—but complementary—backgrounds. Kozlovski, a two-time founder, launched his first startup, Brainz Power, while still a freshman. Although that business generated up to $30,000 a month in revenue, he wanted to build something with deeper impact.

Pecchio, a former software engineer at Amazon, joined as CTO after Kozlovski pitched the idea for Drafted. Together, they set out to build a smarter way to match students with the right job opportunities—especially in the fast-moving world of startups.

How the Platform Works: AI Meets Video Interviewing

Here’s how Drafted helps users get noticed: after signing up with basic details like name, school, and degree, job seekers are invited to create a video resume. In these short videos, candidates answer common interview questions like “What makes you unique?” or “Tell us about a challenge you’ve overcome.”

Employers, in turn, can browse these video resumes and filter based on school, skills, or cultural fit. Drafted’s AI then scores each candidate’s alignment with the job description and company values. In one sitting, hiring managers can review dozens of candidates—a process that would normally take weeks.

Why Drafted’s Approach Stands Out

“There’s no other platform using video resumes as its core feature,” says Kozlovski. “And while some platforms use AI, it’s usually just to scan a PDF. We go much deeper—analyzing how someone speaks, what they say, and how they present themselves.”

This method gives employers more insight than a static resume ever could. Plus, Kozlovski argues that keyword matching often misses great candidates. A video resume, on the other hand, is more likely to keep a recruiter’s attention.

Free Forever for Students—Affordable for Employers

Drafted plans to keep the platform completely free for job seekers. Employers can currently access the service at no cost, but the startup will introduce a paid subscription model in the future. Even then, Kozlovski says the pricing will be much lower than traditional recruiting fees.

Long-term, the company wants to become the go-to job platform for college students and recent grads. For now, the focus is on rapid growth and helping thousands of students find jobs that truly match their ambitions.
