Enterprises today have access to an extensive range of cybersecurity tools designed to protect their networks, data, and assets. However, managing the influx of alerts and coordinating multiple security applications can quickly become overwhelming. What if organizations could create their own custom security applications tailored specifically to their needs?

That’s the vision behind Sola, an emerging Israeli startup that’s breaking ground with a low/no-code cybersecurity platform. The company enables users to design custom security applications, seamlessly integrating with existing tools and workflows. Emerging from stealth mode, Sola has secured $30 million in seed funding to redefine how businesses approach cybersecurity.

A New Approach to Cybersecurity

Unlike traditional cybersecurity solutions, which often require significant investment and technical expertise, Sola aims to simplify security management. Co-founder Guy Flechter explains that the industry has traditionally offered two main options:

  1. Purchasing expensive, complex security solutions – These often come with a hefty six-figure price tag, offering more functionality than most businesses will ever use.
  2. Building custom solutions using open-source components – This requires deep technical knowledge, making it inaccessible to many organizations.

Sola introduces a third option: a low-code, AI-powered platform designed for companies with small security teams and limited technical resources. The platform allows users to set security objectives, ask questions in natural language, and pull data from various sources to build customized security applications.

Backing from Top Investors

Sola’s launch has attracted heavyweight investors, including S Capital (founded by the team behind Sequoia Israel), former Sequoia VC Mike Moritz, S32, and Glilot Capital Partners, along with several undisclosed angel investors. Notably, Moritz is making his first solo investment in a cybersecurity startup, citing Sola’s innovative approach as a major factor.

“Sola is tapping into a broader trend of simplifying front-end user experiences while leveraging advanced AI-driven backend processing,” said Moritz. He compared Sola’s disruptive potential to Stripe in payments and Canva in design—both of which democratized access to highly technical fields.

Built by Cybersecurity Veterans

Sola was co-founded by two industry veterans who bring extensive experience to the table:

  • Guy Flechter, previously co-founder of Cider Security, a specialist in application security acquired by Palo Alto Networks for $300 million in 2022.
  • Ron Peled, formerly Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at LivePerson, with advisory experience across multiple companies.

Their combined expertise bridges both sides of cybersecurity: Flechter as a security builder and Peled as a former security end-user. Their goal is to offer organizations a more streamlined, customizable, and cost-effective security management solution.

How Sola Works

Sola’s platform allows users to:

  • Create custom security applications without extensive coding knowledge.
  • Pull and analyze data from existing security tools.
  • Automate security workflows to improve efficiency.
  • Replace or enhance certain security functions with built-in tools.

For organizations preferring ready-made solutions, Sola also provides a library of pre-built security applications designed to address common security challenges.

Pre-Built Security Apps and Use Cases

Sola offers a growing selection of apps designed for major cloud and security environments. For instance, its AWS Network Security app helps users:

  • Identify overly permissive security group rules.
  • Detect enabled network protocols across the environment.
  • Find unprotected open ports exposing critical services.
  • Monitor VPC flow logs for security insights.

Beyond AWS, Sola supports integrations with platforms like GitHub, Okta, Wiz, and various other cloud security solutions, providing users with deep visibility and control over their security operations.

The Future of No-Code Security Solutions

Sola’s entry into the market comes at a time when businesses are seeking simpler, AI-driven security solutions that don’t require extensive technical expertise. With its low/no-code approach, the company is well-positioned to democratize cybersecurity, making it more accessible and cost-effective for enterprises of all sizes.

As the cybersecurity landscape evolves, Sola aims to be at the forefront, empowering businesses to take greater control over their security with innovative, easy-to-use solutions. With AI advancing at an unprecedented pace, Sola’s capabilities will continue to expand, ensuring organizations stay ahead of emerging threats without breaking the bank.

With $30 million in funding and an innovative low-code cybersecurity platform, Sola is set to disrupt the industry. By enabling organizations to customize their security workflows and leverage AI for smarter protection, the company is paving the way for a new era in cybersecurity management
